Fellows are eligible to accrue and use sick leave in accordance with applicable California and local laws. Generally, this means that you will accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours you work up to a cap of 72 hours, and you may use up to 48 accrued hours in any given academic year. You become eligible to use sick leave after your 30th day of work with Scoot Education provided you have been employed by the company for at least 90 days.
Paid sick leave can be used for absences due to:
- Illness
- The diagnosis, care or treatment of an existing health condition
- Preventative care for you or your family member
Fellows are expected to provide advance notice as early as possible if they are unable to complete the schedule assignment to Scoot and are seeking to use accrued sick leave.
