When a TeachStart Fellow’s home school is closed or off on a regular Scoot workday, including paid holidays not included in the list of TeachStart paid holidays, school PD days, etc., Fellows are expected to accept an alternative subbing position that day assigned by Scoot unless opting to use accrued PTO, sick leave, or another legally valid excuse.
Fellows are expected to accept each substitute position that Scoot requests you to take on in order to maintain a full-time substituting work schedule. Fellows may decline assignments that are more than an hour commute by car. Declining assignments within one hour will be considered an absence.
