TeachStart offers three pathways from which program fellows can choose. At the beginning of the TeachStart application, you will indicate which pathway you are applying to. Fellows apply only to one track and select the one that is best aligned to their career goals.

  • Scholar Pathway: One-year pathway where Fellows work full-time as a substitute with Scoot Education. A Bachelor's degree is required for this pathway. Learn more here!
  • Scholar+ Pathway: Two-year pathway where Fellows work full-time as a substitute with Scoot Education and then transition into a full-time teacher in year two, employed by a school district. This is a low-tuition pathway with Alliant International University to obtain a teaching credential while working with Scoot Education. Learn more here!
  • ParaPro Pathway: One-year pathway where Fellows work full-time as a paraprofessional. ParaPro fellows will not only will they be booked as a paraprofessional, but the list of jobs can include after school educator, SPED aide, TA, office assistant, campus monitor/support as well as TK lead teacher (depending on the fellow’s background).
