Annualized Salary Defined

As is required by state law, your offer letter states your annualized salary. An annualized salary
is the amount you would earn should you work for one full calendar year or 12 months.
Because your employment as a TeachStart Fellow is for the duration of the school year, or from
the time you sign your offer letter until the end date of the contract, the duration of your
employment will be less than one full calendar year.
Please carefully read the cover letter of your offer letter for these amounts. You will be
compensated at these rates through the end date of your employment indicated in your offer
letter.

Calculating Pay

To better understand how much you will earn during your employment, TeachStart breaks
down your annualized salary into an hourly, bi-weekly, and monthly pay rate on your offer
cover letter.

You will be paid bi-weekly on Fridays at your salary rate through the end date on your contract,
May 31, 2024.

You are paid biweekly, which differs from twice a month. This means that your biweekly rate is
divided by 26 paydays, not 24 paydays. Scoot pays over 26 paydays because there are 52
weeks in a year.
